DETROIT - Ford Motor Company has plans to launch Muliti Purpose Vehicle (MPV), the latest C-Max, which has a capacity of carrying seven passengers. As reported by autoevolution, Monday (20/12/2010), C-Max, which uses base MPV Ford Focus designed in Europe and it will make its debut on the mat Detroit Auto Show which will take place next month.

With a length of about 178 inches, C-max has a length that is almost the same as the Ford Focus sedan model 2012. But the C-Max comes with a standard five-seat, plus two small seats in the third row. With seating layout design like that, mean C-Max will be comfortable when filled by four adults, with two small seats in the rear which is only suitable for small children. But the middle and rear seats can be folded in order to get a larger cargo space.

Ford claims that the C-Max will be the first vehicle in North America that use the engine capacity of 1600 cc Ford EcoBoost four-cylinder turbo changer capable of generating power of 180 hp and 234 Nm of torque. They will also be provided version of the engine with larger capacity 2,500 cc normaly aspirated four-cylinder that produces power at 168 hp and torque of 226 Nm. 2.5-liter engine that will only come with six-speed automatic transmission.

"Ford C-Max is proof of how the plan of 'One Ford' global market, by providing high-quality vehicles and fuel-efficient," said Mark Fields, President of Ford Americas.

"C-Max is ideal for customers in North America who are looking for stylish cars, flexible and sophisticated technology that became standard accessories," continued Mark.

According to the plan, C-Max will be available with three trim levels, namely S, SE, Sl. But the selling price has not been confirmed.
