"Thieves may not know that he stole the car belonging to the Minister of Interior," said Geithner. "We were quite fortunate that we can catch the thief."
De Maizière, which oversees the police on duty in Germany, has complained in May about the rising theft of the car and asked manufacturers to improve anti-theft measures.
